4 weeks and 4 entries and a lot of talking about things I’ve done to try and #makeshithappen. Enough about me, I thought I’d use this entry to highlight some ‘#coolsh*t’ that other people have done or are doing after the cut…
Percival Clothing - is a clothing label co-founded by Luke Stenzhorn, a colleague of mine at advertising agency Dare. Their clothes are top quality and sartorially on point like bullseye. I have no doubt these guys will be making big movements in British menswear very soon.
Volume magazine - is a bi-annual publication that publishes and promotes Britain’s newest creative talent across the arts, music and fashion. Co-edited by an old university mate Katie Abbot, Volume is just her spare time hustle, for a 9 - 5, Kate is commissioning arts editor for the Guardian.
PinboardBlog- is a ‘London-based, internationally-read music guide run by twentysomethings.’ Those twenty somethings are a great team, led by Editor in chief Speeakz and made up of prolific music heads, Danny, Tosin and Shan, they are a one of the best sources of Urban-alternative music on the internets, truestories. I’m super chuffed to join them in contributing to Pinboard soon too.
Collectively these people have created some really interesting things and clearly have the chutzpah to get up off their ass and do something interesting and for that I salute all of them.
In this last week, I took out the collective for the first Photofreestyle of the year. It was ace to see my peoples with their cameras and great to dust off the cobwebs myself. I can slowly see the pieces of the Capture Collective puzzle coming together, hopefully by the end of the year we’ll have a rabble of people involved and capturing great images. The next Photofreestyle is on the 26th February if anyone wants to come along.
A soundbite from this week’s church service couldn’t be any more apt, ‘vision without action is merely a dream’.
