#52weeksofaction #week5

the head - Feb 2012 (Brixton - D’angelo concert)
So we’ve leaped from December 31st into the fifth week of 2012, it barely feels right to call it the new year any more and now the new year optimism has supposedly passed, will the momentum of January keep me going? Who knows - one would hope January has set the tone for the rest of the year.
Of the first five weeks, it was certainly the least productive in the #makeshithappen calendar - this shift into #makestuffhappen mode isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it did make me think that doing less may result in achieving more? What do you think?
Coincidentally, I recently read this op-ed piece titled ‘Accepting Less to Have More’ today. I’m not sure I agree with all of it, but I can certainly see the value in scaling down, focusing on less to get the best out of the things you actually do.
Despite the lull, a number of good things happened last week, find out what, after the cut…
- I wrote my first post for the awesome Pinboardboard.
- Went to a D’Angelo gig, where I took the photo above.
- Saw an old friend who was visiting from the States.
- Finished drafting The Capture Collective exhibition proposals.
- Geeked out on American Politics and my favourite American political pundit Rachael Maddow
